How do you write an article that people read, like and comment it, this is a question that has plagued me for some time, why do some articles get over 1000 views while others get less than 10?

Here are some tips from the lessons and experiences over time, making people know, like and follow you takes time and effort.

A thousand plus views …???

There isn’t a simple answer to that question, the answer is that there are many factors that play a roll in making your articles popular, the single biggest factor in getting views, likes and comments has to do with your social status on the platform, famous people and influencers have a regular readership so no matter what the subject is for the post these people will have a core group of people that read their articles.

Hey I know you …!

Building your base of contacts takes time and effort, you will need to post regular articles and canvass people, the process can be broken into 3 phases, “know me”, “like me”, “follow me”.

People get to know you when you post regularly, they read your articles and if your articles are interesting, they will like what you are writing and will eventually follow you then you start to build a core group of followers.

Ooo I like you …!

How and what do you write to make people want to read your articles? The answer is to follow these seven pointers

1. Striking image that captures the headline of your topic — you have a few seconds of screen time to capture your readers, if the image is bland chances are people will pass without taking a second look.

2. Catchy title, that reaches out to people, this one was aimed at catching your attention and if you are reading this it was successful.

3. Content structure — Say what you are going to

4. Keep the article short and to the point, less than 5 minutes read will get more readers than an article that take more time.

5. Use images in the article that emphasize or illustrate the point. A graph of data is easier to understand then a table.

6. Select key phrases and emphasize them to keep the suspense and attention of the reader.

7. Finish your articles with a call to action … “add me to read more interesting articles”.

8. Always list references and any further reading suggestions at the end.

Know me — people read your article but do not like or comment.

Like me — people will like your articles.

Follow me — people comment on your articles and you begin to interact with them.

I am following you :-)

Building your network of followers takes time, your first articles will seem as though no one is interested but as you build your followers and keep posting articles you will gain experience, confidence and comments.

PS the italic bold snippets are not headings, they are catch phrases that keep people interested in the content, these are useful in short articles where readers attention is measured in seconds.
