“Say it loud, say it proud!”

That’s what my grandma Linda used to tell me whenever I started to doubt myself. Now, I say it to myself in my head, especially when people ask where do I see myself next. Here’s a real-life example,

Thirty-something-year-old: “So Ebony, where do you see yourself in 10 years.”

Me: “I see myself as the next generation’s Oprah.”

That’s right! I want to be the next “Queen of All Media.” For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a strong connection with media, journalism, and entertainment. When it comes to being a participant in the space, I’ve done nearly everything under the Sun.

  • Theater
  • Dancing
  • Singing
  • Acting
  • Radio Journalism
  • Print Journalism
  • Creative Writing
  • Instrumentalist (Clarinet, Guitar, Piano)

This is only a list of things I have done, currently, I am:

  • Working at a Media Agency
  • Developing my own Media/Entertainment Company
  • Maintaining an established Integrated Magazine
  • DJ
  • Photographer

I didn’t have the intention of creating a listicle, but my journey in media and entertainment continues, and there’s so much more I can learn from it. I can settle for the moment with the thought of me just beginning my career in media, but eventually, I would like to extend the dubbed title from “Queen of All Media” to “Queens of All Media.”

At first, it seemed a little ridiculous going around saying I’m going to be the next Oprah, but after saying it a couple of times, it felt natural. If you’re just as interested as I am to see how this all plays out, stick around for the long-run.
