Liberated (feat. Kendrick Lamar)

Kanye re-edited the production of Father Stretch My Hands Pt.1 to have less echo, and tighter percussions. I’m glad to see Kanye focus more on drums since he has stated himself that percussions are his achilles heels. This new mix carries over more YEEZUS vibes, which is great, however Metro Boomin is missing in this production, and it’s painfully obvious.

There is not enough Kanye except for his adlibs. Kendrick rides this beat through out the track. He sounds closer to the ear, voice more cleaner with no edits. Regarding the lyrics, there’s something very wrong about hearing kendrick rap about sex as it doesn’t fit his image well.

South Side Serenade (feat. Kendrick Lamar)

Mmmm this production sounds so Kanye. I love it when he takes peoples voices, mostly his own, and edits the shit out it to turn into a beat. Kanye loves featuring Kanye, and that is so Kanye. His singing is not the best, but it’s good. In fact this has the potential to be Kanye’s best modern day tracks. This is my personal favorite of the three.

Overall I love both Kanye and Kendrick, but unlike Metro+21, Future+Drake, they don’t sound like the dream pair we think we want. Change my mind.
