In the track 44 More Logic explains his recent sequential hits by spitting:

’Cause bitch, I’ve been blowin’ up like C-4
And I’m 3 for 3 like a free throw

Unfortunately for Logic, Drake has quickly taken the spot by going 4 for 4. His last four singles: God’s Plan, Look Alive, Diplomatic Immunity and now Nice for What, have all blown up.

The production of this track is influenced by Bounce music, which takes its roots from New Orleans. Hence why Drake says “lil weezyana shi” in the beginning of the track. In fact Bounce music is actually fairly popular in Luisiana, where it influences a lot of the twerking songs we twerk to- I mean don’t, right guys? An example of this is the track Back That Azz Up, which uses an Irv & Tucker sample. Nice for What is influenced by this style by sampling Big Freedia. We also have a sample from Lauryn Hill’s Ex Factor.

This beat is very dynamic in that it includes a lot things going on. I honestly get Kanye vibes from this, but we can have that discussion in the comment section. I hear some hi-hat patterns, which is the drum pattern best shown here:

There is also a Triggerman sample used near the beginning, which may or may not be credited from New Orleans depending what camp you’re on- I don’t want to start this feud just hear the sample and move one.

We also get a good beat switch around where the Big Freedia sample kicks in and some looping of female vocals. There are many sections that make the song easily sampled for DJ to remix the track. Especially at 2:15 onwards.

Overall, Nice For What is gonna be really good for the summer. Drake’s got himself a club hit for sure.

Would you like for me to review more single tracks? Lemme know in the comment section below!
