Josh Levitt // Strategic Projects Associate, Telehealth // New York City

Blink Health: What do you do at Blink Health?
Josh Levitt: As a Strategic Projects Associate, I work on the business and operations side of the Telehealth team. That means I collaborate with our external partners to design telehealth solutions for new categories of treatment; perform financial analysis that informs product decision-making (like pricing, planning out product offerings for various therapeutic areas, projected revenues and costs); design and execute projects that test hypotheses around patient acquisition, conversion or retention; and track weekly, monthly and quarterly metrics to identify areas we can improve.

BH: Sounds busy! What’s a typical day like for you?
JL: I like to start my day by reviewing our team’s core metrics, so I can understand how well we’re doing and identify possible opportunities for improvement. In the late morning and early afternoon, I tend to have a couple meetings to discuss ongoing projects or brainstorm ideas for future ones. Since my work directly affects the product, marketing, data analytics, and customer experience functions, regular communication and face-to-face discussions are critical to the success of the Telehealth team. Toward the end of the day, I’ll usually pop on my headphones and do some “deep work,” such as building financial models, researching the latest telehealth developments or new therapeutic conditions, or investigating data anomalies. I like to describe my days as “good busy” — neither overwhelming nor boring!

BH: What’s the office atmosphere like?
JL: Startup-y. Busy but light-hearted.

BH: What did you do before joining Blink Health?
JL: I began my career in management consulting at PwC, where I got to work with a handful of large Fortune 100 companies, including Coca-Cola and AmerisourceBergen. Some of my project responsibilities included: developing new strategies for customer retention, improving pricing and promotions to generate savings, and building tools for internal communication and tracking. After two years, I decided it was time to find a job working for a company with a mission that got me excited each day — and that’s when I applied to Blink!

BH: What do you enjoy doing at Blink that you haven’t gotten to do in previous roles?
JL: Seeing a project through from inception to final implementation. In consulting, much of my work meant delivering a PowerPoint deck and disappearing. Here I get to implement changes and see the tangible results of my ideas.

BH: What motivates you at work?
JL: Knowing that we’re improving lives by giving more people access to the medications they need.

BH: What’s a project or initiative you’re proud to be working on?
JL: We’re expanding telehealth options into some really impactful areas. It’s exciting to be working on a solution for people taking those meds on a regular basis so they can more easily and affordably access care and treatment that they might not otherwise be able to get or pay for without Blink Health’s platform.

BH: What’s it like to hear stories from customers about the impact of Blink?
JL: Hearing positive reviews is the best part about working here! But I also try to pay attention to what unhappy customers are saying so I can understand what we need to do to continuously improve our product.

BH: There are lots of tech companies doing amazing things right now. Why did you choose Blink?
JL: We have the best mission! We’re disrupting an industry where massive middlemen suppress transparency in order to drive huge profit margins. We also get to solve complex, open-ended problems (where there is no obvious solution) that require critical thinking and data-driven decisions.
