Of all the three-letter acronyms in the world, “HSA” is one you definitely want to know.

It stands for Health Savings Account, and it can help you get more for your dollar on qualified medical expenses — including the prescriptions you purchase through Blink.

How does an HSA work?

An HSA is a special savings account you can only open if you are enrolled in a high deductible health plan. Some health insurance companies offer them, but you can also open one through certain banks.

You choose how much money you want to put into your HSA (up to the federal limit, which changes from year to year). That money goes into your HSA pre-tax, which lowers your taxable income. You also don’t pay taxes on the funds you withdraw to pay for qualified medical supplies and services.

How do I use my HSA funds with Blink?

If your HSA provider has given you a debit card linked to your HSA, you can use your HSA debit card to pay for your prescriptions on Blink. If you need to submit a receipt to be reimbursed by your HSA, we can provide one for you after you fill the med you purchased through Blink.
