Another amazing member of our Customer Care team, Dell, shares his experiences helping patients.
The Blink Health Customer Care team is a group of compassionate and knowledgeable specialists who work 365 days a year to support patients in accessing the medications they need.
We chatted with Dell about his experience helping customers at Blink and beyond.
How long have you been working in a customer service capacity (at Blink or elsewhere)?
I can technically say I’ve been working in Customer Service for over 10 years. I started out at a Family Fun park in South Carolina where I worked the front counter where customers would purchase attractions, plan birthdays, express their concerns and much more. From there I went on to work in retail and customer support for other companies.
How many customers would you estimate you’ve served?
I can easily say over 25,000 for sure! Working in a Family Fun park on the weekend, it’s very easy to talk to and serve over 500 people in a weekend.
What’s the best thing about working with customers?
The absolute best thing about working with customers is literally making their day better or turning their not so great day into a great one. As Maya Angelou said, “People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
What’s the toughest part of the job?
Not being able to make someone happy. It can be really disappointing at times when you’re unable to help or turn negative experiences around.

What have you learned about the healthcare system from working with customers at Blink?
There are many working parts for sure. One thing I’ve taken away from my time here at Blink is how things are done on the pharmacy side and with prescription claims. As a kid, I thought you’d just give the pharmacy the prescription and pay.
What advice would you give to someone who is just getting started?
Always actively listen, be patient and most importantly, show empathy by putting yourself in the customer’s shoes.
