Some Christians think it is the name of God and call it religiously. Others take it as a title attributed to the Holy God. I thought so too until I delved deep into its meaning.

In this post, we’ll find out its intimate significance.

The Lord’s Prayer at Gethsemane

The night before He was crucified, Jesus brought three of His disciples with Him to the garden of Gethsemane where He said this prayer,

“Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.” (Mark 14:36, KJV)

The apostle Paul quoted these two words, “Abba, Father” in his epistles to the believers in Rome and to those in the province of Galatia.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the…
