Introducing Unsplash for Media 🗞
A powerful new way for media organizations, both big and small, to access the highest-quality open library for free
Today we’re making the Unsplash API available across thousands of the top media sites to power the visuals for independent publishers through to mainstream news outlets.
Our initial launch partners provide the systems that power much of the media on the internet. Their systems enable the ideas and knowledge of journalists, writers, and bloggers to spread from any corner of the globe.
To accompany their ideas, these creators need images that are impactful and accessible.
Over the years, the Unsplash community has grown from just a handful of contributors to a global movement including hundreds of thousands of photographers and organizations.
With contributing organizations ranging from the CDC to the UN to Microsoft, and contributors representing over 190+ countries worldwide, the collective library covers the everyday and the extraordinary.
From global events like the Coronavirus pandemic, the honouring of the late Kobe Bryant, Brexit, and the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, to intimate moments, the whimsical, and the experimental, you can now find any visual you need in the Unsplash library, with the total available images doubling every year.
And unlike any previous library, there is no red tape and no limitations.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing our launch partners, introducing a new set of APIs for decentralized publishing platforms, and bringing a new publishing workflow for the world’s largest content management system.
