Make Day Roundup, February
What have you made lately?
At Unsplash we’re big believers in the idea that everyone is creative. Given a chance, anyone can create something beautiful and meaningful.
On the first Friday of every month, we encourage everyone to share what they’ve been making and we call this Make Day. Writing, design, remixing, photography, hacking, illustrating, cooking, building. We like to think of it as a celebration of turning ideas into realities. 💪
Here’s what we created on the Unsplash Team…
Kirill Zakharov, Luke Chesser and Mikael Cho revamped our Hiring and Team page that showcases our culture and how we like to work.
Aaron Klaassen improved the TinEye search that automatically runs on every photo uploaded to Unsplash as part of our submissions flow. You can check out Aarons work on GitHub at https://github.com/unsplash/tinplate.
Joshua Comeau worked on a mini-graphing library that draws these neat lines to show “trends” (eg. how many photo downloads per day do you have over the last month).
Bruno Aguirre worked on a video generator from Unsplash photos to create a “My year in Unsplash” feature.
Timothy Carbone reported inaccurate Google Vision landmarks detections & filter by confidence and optimized the Vision enriching script.
Martine Goyette and I made some Unsplash GIFs to use on social media.
NB: Making GIFs is much harder that we expected!
Here’s some of the makes that people shared on Instagram, Twitter and our Slack Community…
Unsplasher Nathan Anderson created a website to showcase his new sponsorship deal.
