One of the realities of working on a team? That everyone has a different way of actually getting stuff done. There’s the meticulous notetaker. That person who’s anti-spreadsheet. And then the person who’s obsessed with spreadsheets. Which would be fine, but… the other reality of working on a team? That a surprising (and let’s face it — a little depressing) amount of time in the day is spent actually trying to track down all of the different documents your team is working off of. Whether that’s finding the final *final* file that you and your colleague have been collaborating on, or scanning through your seemingly never-ending saved bookmarks to uncover your team’s meeting notes that seem to disappear and reappear in a new folder every week.

Enter: Coda

Thankfully, Coda thought it was about time to bring everyone back together with their new docs for teams — designed to grow with your ideas. So launch a product, write a quick to-do list, start a project tracker — it’s all possible with Coda’s all-in-one doc.

But the best part is that Coda’s got unique building bocks that work for everyone. From tables and buttons to time-saving templates, your doc can grow and evolve with the needs of your team. Not only that, but people on your team can create customizable views in shared documents, so that they can see the data how they want to. Which means, you no longer need 8 docs about the same project when you can create one doc that works for everyone in your team.

One thing that everyone in your team will have to settle on? Which photo from Unsplash to use for your doc’s cover image. Luckily, with a library of over a million beautiful images to choose from, it’s not hard to find an image that inspires everyone on your team.

To set a cover image:

  1. Hover over the first line of text (Title) in your section’s canvas
  2. Select Add Cover to expand the masthead of your Section with a placeholder image
  3. Hover over the lower right corner of this image to expose the selection menu, and then choose from a few options for your photo:
  • Choose from Unsplash allows you to search a directory of free stock photos for your doc
  • Reposition allows you to drag and move the image so it is framed within the designated Cover Photo area how you like
  • Remove clears the Cover Photo

You may add a Cover Photo to each section of a Coda doc, but only the first section’s cover photo will be exposed in the URL unfurl of published docs. Visit the Coda’s How-To page to learn more about adding cover photos to your docs.
