A narrow fellow slips on the surface
gliding now from start to end;
For the end will always to his
mind show which way to bend.
Always must slide forward, as if to kiss
a lover, that which to its mind most fond;
But down these twists lies madness
Ne’er content but with one step beyond.
Unable to hear aught beside the heart,
Path always bends back to the start.
