You cannot shame them.

They cannot be reasoned with.

The ones who aren’t rich:

a) want to make sure no one darker than a grocery bag is doing better than them, and

b) really like to see “liberal f*ggots” get pissed off, and they don’t care what it costs them as long as it hurts you.

The ones who are rich just want to get richer and rightly believe they will be able to buy their way out of having to personally suffer the consequences.

Liberalism has failed, and most of what we do in terms of “resistance” is just a big Pantsuit Nation circle jerk.

People way smarter than me have suggestions for concrete action, but the truth is that most of us aren’t going to do anything concrete because our individual actions would be catastrophic for us while having zero effect because isolated individual action has no impact on the system.

So we stay anxious, signal boost within our same small circles, and try not to make our own lives worse-

And until we wake up to find that our money is suddenly worthless, until our individual lives seemingly cannot get any worse, we will probably just stay inside, watch the suicide rates go up as we slide into fascism, and deny that this is “the real America” until it is quite literally knocking on our door.

I am no better than you. This is what I try to avoid thinking about when I can’t get out of bed.

But I believe it is the truth. And we are all complicit.
