I don’t know what I’m doing.. and that’s OK

When reading a lot of these impressive startup stories it’s easy to be intimidated by it all. You hear of these brilliant founders who magically came up with this unicorn worthy idea, make tons of rainbow coloured money and seemingly ride off into the sunset.

This is an exaggeration, but you get the idea — there’s tons of successful people winning at this startup game.

I have my own moments of brilliance (or so I think), but sometimes feel: “how the hell can be in the same space as xyz company, they’re awesome, I’m not”.

I feel that way right up to the point when I exit my cave and speak with actual humans. When I hear real stories of how some business owners struggle with the occasional feelings of self doubt, have no clue about next steps or just generally had a bad day . It’s right at that point they become normal human beings rather than these startup super stars.

I don’t know what I’m doing, but it appears nobody does so I’m doing alright. Everybody is making shit up as they go.
