BEWARE OF THAT E-MAIL

The story I am about to tell you all is both funny and scary but at the same time, I will like you to help me thank God for my life for surviving it. I got this random email just like some other people that I later found out were people I know. This message was a message I ordinarily would have deleted, you know those random kind of messages that would skip your sight when you go through your mailbox but I just didn’t get round to deleting it for one reason or the other.

How these kind of people get your email address without even missing a letter still amazes me at times and the dexterity with which they craft their messages too is unrivaled. These kind of people should be working in our intelligence agencies to help ward off their type.

And so the d-day arrived and the urge to meet the other names on the list was my driving force because I had not seen some of them in a very long time like in fifteen years or more. The event was actually a seminar to introduce us to a product which turned out to be LAND. Yes, the almighty land that everyone always prays and saves towards to own and build a befitting house of their choice. The seminar started very late as opposed to the time on the mail. They figured we all needed some time to catch up on old times and true to their thinking, it was so as we all started throwing and receiving banters for over an hour.

The seminar got under way and as they introduced the topic to us, they served finger foods and drinks to cool us down, that seemed to be for starters because the next thing that was served like one hour thirty minutes into the seminar was very shocking and it got people agitated and raised suspicions. We were served ten thousand US dollars each and that was the icing on the cake which got the seminar disrupted as people started questioning the rationale behind the money being served. Was it to ginger us into buying the land or was it to garner our support for a political party? In the heat of the disruption, the guy serving the money went out to meet another guy who came back inside with him to explain to us that the guy serving the money misunderstood him. His actual instruction was to hand out one hundred dollars each to us. He obviously said that thinking he would calm the situation down, while he was doing this, everyone started handing back the ten thousand dollars they got earlier and this was when the real movie started as people started making for the exit.

Guess what, we had fallen into the hands of ritual killers masquerading as property dealers who were going to have a lot of victims but God no go gree. As everyone ran helter skelter, in different directions to safety, one of the invitees who was late for the seminar was just coming into the building and being a military guy with security expertise, he sighted the commotion and quickly called for backup from the nearest barracks and so a shootout started immediately the backup he called for arrived . These ritualist were obviously prepared for any eventuality but they eventually lost out as the fire power from our friend’s troops over powered them but unfortunately one of us inadvertently lost his life in the fracas. As everything calmed down while we watched from our different hideouts, the ritualist had lost five of their own and the rest were rounded up. As they were being taken away, they hinted that a friend of ours was instrumental to the email invites they sent out but he had taken to his heels as the commotion ensued. But for how long can he run? Never trust a friend you have not seen in at least five years.

This was the very first time in a longgggggggggg time I was remembering my dream. (Yorubas will say ala go)
