SHAME OF A NATION

What exactly is a Nigerian life worth? This billion dollar question has been on for ages and we seem not to have gotten an answer yet. But we ourselves could actually place the kind of value we deem fit on a Nigerian life if and when we want to.

If there is anything many Nigerians as staunch supporters of this administration score the government low on, it is the lip service the President has paid to the activities of Fulani herdsmen with all the wanton and mindless killings they have carried out in the last 3 years. Innocent and helpless souls have all been wasted and cut short all across the country, yet no drastic action seem to have been taken to put a stop to all the killings. I personally campaigned for this government during the elections but on this particular issue, I give them a ZERO and will continue to condemn them as long as the killings go on and nothing is done to address and put a stop to it.

The worst hit have been our brothers and sisters up north most especially in Benue, horrible scenes have been seen and witnessed of women and children too horrid to describe, yet some MAD people will claim there are no evidences the killings are carried out by Fulani herdsmen. I have only one prayer for them but that prayer will not come out of my mouth. Your guesses are as good as mine the prayer it is. For those who still find no wrong in the approach this government has taken on this matter, my only advice to them is to “kontinew, diaris God”

Some states down south have anticipated it even with the pockets of mayhem they have caused and have taken extreme measures to guard against it. It has become a matter of an “eye for an eye” as legislation have been put in place to keep the marauding Fulani herdsmen in check whenever they intend to rear their ugly heads. A government that should ordinarily protect lives and properties have really let the people down by not taking the required and desired action. Those the people look up to, keep quiet when these killings are carried out but are very swift to haggle over and place newspaper condolence messages when the soul of an elite or those close to one is lost. That is HYPOCRISY at its peak and all in a bid to ensure political correctness. With the few that have been carried out and the ones intended, the activities of our security and intelligence agencies need to be stepped up to forestall repeat occurrences that cut lives short in their prime.

As time ticks, may we be kind enough to be our brother’s keeper for the remaining part of this administration and beyond when A REAL VALUE will be placed on a Nigerian life.

MAY THE SOULS OF THE DEPARTED FROM THIS DASTARDLY ACTS REST IN PEACE
