Four companies shared their progress and plans for future ventures at the March 2016 StartUp Tech Valley meet-up event.

Leaders from Windrush, Odd Networks, Lately and Brightboard addressed a standing-room-only crowd at Brown’s Brewing Company’s Revolution Hall on Wednesday.

Windrush, a Saratoga Springs data visualization company, spoke to the growing need for data among both nonprofits and businesses in the financial sector, while Lately positioned itself as a crucial hub for clients looking to save time and money on marketing.

Odd Networks helps clients manage over-the-top services, a term that indicates video or other media provided online, not on a service provider’s network. Representatives said that the company earned more than $1 million in revenue over the last year, also noting that it’s difficult and risky to launch a new venture. Brightboard, launched by area medical professionals, aims to help surgeons crowdfund and brainstorm new ideas for medical innovations.

At the end of the event, Upstate Venture Connect founder Martin Babinec said innovative start-up businesses are crucial to attracting venture capital to the region.
