News landed Saturday that the Oklahoma City Thunder signed 6'3", 23–year-old guard Semaj Christon. A native of Cincinnatti, OH and a product of Xavier University (2014 NBA Draft,) Christon mapped his name by turning heads in the 2016 NBA Summer League in five games for the Thunder.

2016 NBA Summer League: 16.8 PPG, 4.3 APG (team-high)
2014–15 OKC Blue stats: 18.6 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 5.7 APG, 1.6 STL (44 games)

Signing Christon lifts OKC to a hefty four point guards (Russell Westbrook, Cameron Payne and Ronnie Price.) Early indications point to Christon ticketed for another run with the Oklahoma City Blue according to ESPN’s Royce Young:

Christon provides the Thunder depth, but lacks the experience of stepping on the NBA hardwood (0 games). However, at Orlando Summer League, he showed he can have an impact on the floor offensively and defensively — a fit in Billy Donovan’s system that utilizes multiple styles. Donovan was known for trial-and-error rotations last season, so we’ll see...

Christon spent the 2015–16 season playing in Italy with VL Pesaro. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
