Existence — is independent of the ideas or thoughts of it

So, the fundamental existence mentioned as tAnu in the last post is independent of ideas accepting or rejecting it. We have described aham in the last post as that encompasses everything.

While teaching an external subject that describes object, the examples can be given from external experiences. But, the subject being discussed here is the “true self” the “very being”.

Most of the times while searching for the reality through a process driven by “thoughts”, only the waking state experiences are considered for explanation. Dream is brushed away as unreal. Deep-sleep is not even considered as an experience itself. But, Maharshi’s of India have always used deep internal daily experiences to explain deep concepts of reality.

So, verse 21 of upadesa saram:

nEnartha midi nEnu lEnaTTi nidra dAnu lEnani lEka tAnunna dAna.

Same in Sanskrit

idam aham pada Abhikhyam anvaham ahamilInakE api alaya-sattayA

This is the true meaning of I (aham, nEnu): Even when the I-thought (idea of aham or individual ego) is completely subsided in deep-sleep, the true self ever exists without any modification.

There is no “non-existence” to the very existence. It is ever present “I” is without any laya or merging and emerging back; The unceasing continuous existence is the true import of aham or nEnu or tAnu in reality. It is **NOT** something which is a continuously changing idea identifying itself as I.
