ApUrNa cit-sukham — overflowing bliss
imperishable, unborn, uninterrupted delight and ease
In the earlier posts we have seen the teaching of non-duality of various generally apparent duals. Especially in past five posts the non-duality has been taught by Bhagavan Ramana to the core of it.
- Existence is verily conscious.
- God and Self are of same nature.
- Realizing Self itself is realization of God.
- A firm absorption in self alone is knowing the self.
- The true wisdom is beyond knowledge and ignorance.
“What is the true nature of this self realization? How to describe it?” is being dealt in verse 28 of upadesa saram.
tana rUpamEdani tAnu darSimpa ghana-cittanantAdya akhanDa sukhamagu
kim svarUpam iti Atma darSanE avyayAbhavA ApUrNa citsukham
avyaya, abhava — anantAdya = imperishable or unending and unborn or having no beginning
akhanDa = uninterrupted i.e., which has no breaks; which is continuous
The realization discovers the true nature of SELF as imperishable, unborn, uninterrupted continuous ever fulfilled solid conscious BLISS! (generally referred to as sat-cit-Ananda in vedanta )
So, realization is not mere removal or difficulties/problems and putting oneself at ease. It is not an intellectual speculation. It is not an emotional attitude. It is not a set of pleasures which will turn boring after enjoying them for a while. It is not something which is generated by something else. It not something which diminishes by consuming it. It is not something which comes in spells. It is infinite bliss. It is infinite consciousness. It is infinite existence. sat-cit-Ananda Atma darSanam!!
