ISa darSanam — God realization
is self realization, seeing the true form of self as God
In the last post, the apparent differentiation between the universal Lord (ISa or God) and the personal soul (jIva) is resolved as conceptual roles or upAdhi or vEsha.
The ultimate achievement of all philosophical endeavors is not to teach others of what is reality. It is one’s own realization of the TRUTH. This is generally termed as “Seeing God” or “realization of self”. It is not gaining something new. It is not throwing away some old concept and replacing it with a new concept. It is all about transcending all concepts. It is just seeing. It is just being. It is bliss. It is. “BE”
darSanam : This is not about inventing something new. It is discovering what is.
Hence, verse 25 of upadesa saram:
tAnupAdhi vadali tannerunguTaye tAnugAvelugISa tattva darSanamu
vEsha hAnataH svAtma darSanam Isa darSanam svAtma rUpataH
By casting off all concepts, discovering one’s own self, that is self-effulgent is realization of God as Self.
Realization discovers the divinity of God in self as self! Only thing preventing realization is the bunch of concepts / symbols / words and ideas of truth by limiting the reality in various ways.
Discovering the self and discovering God is one and the same. Any sincere attempt to discover the truth always results in non-duality of TRUTH.
