saddarSanam — verse 21

AtmAnam IkshEta param prapaSyEt
iti AgamOktEH sulabhO na bhAvaH
na Atma Eva dRSyO yadi kA kathEsO
svayam tat annIbhavanam tadIkshA

“see the SELF”, “realize supreme” declare
scriptures, which is not easy to understand
self is not in the picture, how to see the god then?
self-sacrifice in supreme is the real vision

1.Self realization and 2.realization of supreme lord both are declared in scriptures. But self is not an object to be observed. It is all observing subject. When self is not visible then how to bring supreme into visibility? Being a sacrificial oblation (food) - annIbhavanam in the supreme alone is realization. Being consumed by supreme lord is serving lord as everything. That is supreme surrender and supreme bhakti.
