When your junk needs an ‘Architectural Intervention’

At Architectural Intervention design studio, no object is looked down upon as waste. What seems like junk at first sight, when explored through the creative mind, can be transformed into useful objects of beauty.

They have designed a variety of products from waste such as table tops from waste wood pieces, lights from used bottles and cardboard rolls, outdoor chairs made of used tyres and rope, and sculptures from automobile scrap. They have created panels from waste bamboo pieces which can be used as partition walls or supports for table. They also have constructed walls out of used bottles to achieve subtly lit spaces in the houses we design. The possibilities of these creations are endless. Each of their products is functional as well as aesthetic.

As a part of their ‘Waste to WOW’ challenge, they offer to design products from your backyard junk. You can call them to your backyard and display your junk objects and they will design a product which is useful to you by the end of the day. Their efforts are in line with the green thinking.

Reusing objects in different ways until the end of their life cycle can help in reducing waste going out to the landfills as well as save the energy required to create the new products. So all they like to say is: “Think before you throw!”
