This supermum who lost her hands and feet to sepsis is still going to climb a mountain

Corrine Hutton, 48, might be a quadruple amputee, but in less than a week’s time she’ll be preparing to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

The single mum is undertaking the challenge to help raise funds for the Finding Your Feet charity she founded.

The aim is to raise £50,000 — and they’re only £5,000 off (at the time of writing this). If you want to help, you can donate here.

A blind grandmother was able to see again

Nahid Akhtar had been blinded by cataracts for four years — but saw her two-month-old granddaughter Savira for the first time after having life-changing eye surgery.

The operation, which only took 20 minutes, was made possible by a British-funded campaign, Sightsavers’ Million Miracles.

The charity has raised enough money to restore the sight of one million people around the world.

Students crowdfunded a trip home for their much-loved cleaner

Herman Gordon said he “felt like a trillionaire” after students at Bristol University raised over £1,500 to send him and his wife on a dream holiday to his native Jamaica.

The cleaner, who was part of the Windrush generation, broke down in tears when he was told about the trip earlier this year.

It is the first time Herman has been able to visit his family in a decade.

Meghan Markle has been secretly helping the Grenfell community

Since January, Meghan Markle has been quietly visiting a Grenfell community kitchen — and has helped them publish a cookbook which will raise funds for it to stay open.

Together: Our Community Cookbook is available to buy now and features 50 recipes from women of the local community.
