A six-year-old boy was finally reunited with his mum

Mohamed Bangoura was stranded in Brussels for two weeks after the British Home Office revoked his passport — despite him being born in the UK.

This is the emotional moment he was finally reunited with his mother Hawa.

Volunteers helped rebuild the community for Grenfell residents

The people of Grenfell have a new boxing club and community centre after BBC’s DIY SOS and a team of volunteers, including Prince William, helped rebuild them following last year’s tragic fire.

DIY SOS presenter Nick Knowles said it was “a build that will stay with him forever”.

If you missed the heartwarming episodes catch them here on BBC iPlayer.

This model didn’t let anything stop her fulfilling her dream

Marian Avila walked New York Fashion Week — and absolutely stole the show.

The 21-year-old, who has Down’s syndrome, said she “wanted to show the world that there are no barriers.”

Rumours are she could next be modelling for Vogue…

A baby who beat the odds will soon be allowed to leave hospital

‘Miracle baby’ Vanellope Hope Wilkins was given a 10% chance of survival when she was born with her heart outside her chest in November 2017.

After several operations and almost a year in hospital, she will soon be allowed to go home.

Vanellope will still have to undergo reconstructive surgery in the future, but fingers crossed this little fighter will come out on top.

An act of kindness from a fast food worker went viral

A fast food worker at a Wendy’s in Albuquerque in the US was praised for how he took care of a blind couple who popped in for a burger.

Richard Wise-Attwood said he was “just doing his job” — but those watching said he went above and beyond to make sure the couple had everything they needed.

We definitely need more Richards in this world!

These people are helping the elderly and the ambulance service

A group of volunteers are helping ease the burden on the ambulance service by doing exercises with the elderly.

Incredibly, it has cut the number of call outs from elderly people falling by half.

Let’s hope the successful pilot scheme will be rolled out.

A US golfer became the first in the sport to be openly gay

American golfer Tadd Fujikawa perhaps gave hope for sportsmen everywhere by revealing his sexuality in a heartfelt Instagram post.

The 27-year-old, believed to be the first openly gay male professional golfer, said he hoped to be an inspiration for the LGBTQ community and help “make a difference in someone’s life”.

Amsterdam is helping save the bees

If you didn’t know, bees are incredibly important — keeping our ecosystem going and helping our food grow.

So it’s only right we look after them — like the good people of Amsterdam, who have set up green spaces across the city for our buzzy friends to thrive.

Ryan Gosling made a coffee shop owner’s day — or year probably

When coffee shop owner Joelle Murray installed a life-sized cardboard cutout of Ryan Gosling in her shop in a bid to get him to visit, she never imagined it would work.

But the Hollywood actor melted hearts when he actually showed up while promoting his new film in Toronto.

Just another reason why we heart Gosling! ❤️

The police tried to be down with the kids

More funny, than heartwarming, was this list of street slang Surrey Police apparently use to understand what the kids of today are saying.

Even if it doesn’t stop ‘beef’ on the streets, it’ll probably make you smile.
