Are you ready for the Fall?

Hello friends, you’ve probably noticed that faint chill in the evenings, the assembly of the exhibition grounds, or flooding of beaches with those pesky red jellyfish. That’s right: summer is almost over.

As much as I enjoy being the bearer of bad news, I thought I’d try to help out with a few little reminders to help make that fall transition a little easier.

Back up and Restore old Course Materials

If you taught your fall semester has courses you taught last fall or winter, you can move your materials from the old-Moodle to the new Moodle. We made this little video walk you through the steps:

Practice your Moodling

We’re hosting a number of workshops on Moodle before the fall. We’re headed into the second week of our Moodle Bootcamp, but you’re more than welcome to sign up for any remaining sessions that catch your eye.

There are also sessions to help introduce some of the cool new features enabled on the new Moodle, such as the H5P Drag and Drop question or how to add interactions on videos.

Check out the Course Development Self Assessment

If you want to do a quick check of your course on your own, you can take a look at the course development tool we have. Make a copy of our document and edit the form as you need.

Book an instructional design appointment

You’re always welcome to book time with our instructional designers. If you’re wondering what we can do for you, check out our newly updated E-Learning page on UPEI.ca.

Make a Course Welcome Video

Our multimedia specialist is running a workshop to help get you started making your own course welcome videos. If you’re interested, sign up with this form.

And, as always, if you have any questions, please reach out to us at elearning@upei.ca. We’d love to work with you.
