2021 Roadmap Update
2021 is off to a wonderful start for the Upland Metaverse!
It is now the end of Q1, a quarter where Upland achieved an unprecedented period of growth and scale, securing our place as the biggest blockchain based app in the world, as we maintain our growth trajectory towards mass adoption.
During this quarter, the Upland team was required to shift resources in order to support the rapid growth we experienced. This resulted in the following substantial advancements:
- The shift to utilizing our own stack of EOS mainnet nodes
- Major infrastructural improvements to the property minting process
- The release of Brooklyn, and preparation for the release of additional cities in both the West and East Coast hubs
- Optimization of our backend processes to support the current and future scale of concurrent player activity
- Integration of tools to further advance Upland’s backend robustness and security
Nevertheless, as we prioritized the growth of the economy and our ability to sustain it, some key deliverables that were planned in the roadmap for Q1 were delayed. We want to provide an update on where each of these projects currently stand and the adjusted estimates for delivery of each.
Block Explorer NFT and Asset Wallet
This will be delivered in 2 phases starting this week. Our expectation is that by the end of the first full week of April, all custom BE owners will have them as NFTs in the updated client.
The Spark Token, Structure NFT and Property Development
Our current plan is to deliver the long-awaited property development feature set during the 2nd half of April, which will be preceded by the Spark community drop.
The UPLOAD token, and NFT Portal Beta
The smart contracts for the first portal between the WAX blockchain and Upland are finalized. We expect the Portal beta to launch in the timeframe between the end of April and beginning of May, allowing the Upland Blockchain Heros card assets to be ported into Upland (with the extraction of Block Explorer NFTs where applicable).
We appreciate your patience as we continue to improve the roadmap update process. We will keep you updated with a more comprehensive outlook to Q2 and an updated agile roadmap, which will live on the Upland website.
