The Upland Auction House
During Genesis Week, the Upland team hosted its first-ever community live auction! Needless to say, we were blown away by the feedback we received. As a result, we are proud to announce that Upland Live Auctions are marking a return starting this Wednesday, June 23rd, at 11:00 AM PT!
Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, Upland will be hosting live auctions in Discord via the UM Auction Bot. Prior to each auction, players can apply for an opportunity to have their properties included. Outside of player-owned properties, the Upland team may also opt to include select properties (not owned by players) to be included as well, so keep an eye out for these occurrences.
Submitting Properties
Players can request to have their properties auctioned off via the Google Form here. Submissions will typically open at the start of the week, and will close prior to the auction; players who are included will be notified via email at this time. After submissions have closed, the Upland team will select 15–20 properties to include in the auction.
Participating in the Auction
1 hour prior to the start of the auction, we will announce the list of properties to be included in each week’s auction. Every auction will be managed by a bot courtesy of the Upland Marketplace community.
During the auction, a property will appear in the Discord chat listing the owner, starting price, address, and relevant collections. Players who wish to bid can click the ‘up arrow’ emoji. Each bid will increase the price by a fixed amount of UPX which will be pre-determined before each auction begins.
Live Auctions will also be hosted by members of the Upland team and will be accompanied by a Discord Stage. We highly encourage all players and participants to tune in for music, updates, and live commentary!
Auction Terms & Guidelines
Players who wish to participate will need to agree to the following guidelines in the #auction-rules channel in Discord. After agreeing to the terms, players will be given the ‘Auction Participant’ role and will be able to participate in the #auction channel.
- Submitted properties are owned by you, the player; players may not request for auctions of properties they do not own
- Submitted properties must NOT be listed on the secondary marketplace. Properties that are currently listed at the time of submission will not be included in the auction.
- Players must not bid above what they are willing to pay; refusal to offer payment for a won auction will result in immediate dismissal from Discord
- Abuse of the bidding mechanism will also result in an immediate dismissal from Discord; Please do not bid in an attempt to jack up the price!
