Old Town Gems Event

Hello Uplanders!

Starting this Tuesday, May 11th, we will begin both auctioning off and awarding properties from the Ultra-Rare “Old Town Gems” collection in Fresno. This event will serve as a test of new methods to introduce Ultra Rare collections into the Upland economy. There will be 3 different ways to participate in the Old Town Gems event.

• First, we are collaborating with some of our most prominent player communities. Each will run their own event to award 1 of 8 of the Ultra Rare properties as prizes to their communities. See details below.
• Second, 2 properties will be auctioned off LIVE using the Discord Stage feature.
• Third, 16 properties will be auctioned off via the traditional reverse auction method.

Community Giveaways

We have partnered up with 8 of our most prominent player communities and allowed them each to run their own unique giveaway event for the 8 properties. Each of the 8 properties selected were assigned to each community member at random. The list of participating channels has been posted below. Reverse Auctions

On Tuesday, May 11th, at 12:00 PM PT, we will begin Reverse Auctions for 16 properties in the Ultra-Rare Old Town Gems collection. Each 30 minutes, the price of each property will be reduced. If a property goes unminted until the end of the reduction schedule, it will reset to the initial mint price, which we have listed below. The reverse auction will run for up to 5 hours. Remember, each property is set to the same starting bid, but their suggested initial mint prices are different and vary according to size, plan your strategy accordingly. Also, take note that the actual price at which the property is minted will determine the earnings for the property.

Reduction Schedule:

12:00 PM PT: 1,500,000 UPX

12:30 PM PT: 1,200,000 UPX

1:00 PM PT: 900,000 UPX

1:30 PM PT: 600,000 UPX

2:00 PM PT: 400,000 UPX

2:30 PM PT: 300000 UPX

3:00 PM PT: 250,000 UPX

3:30 PM PT: 200,000 UPX

4:00 PM PT: 150,000 UPX

4:30 PM PT: 100,000 UPX

5:00 PM PT: Price Reverts to Suggested Mint Price

LIVE Auction

After the reverse auctions have begun, we will host a Live Auction later in the afternoon. At 3:00 PM PT on Tuesday, May 11th, a Discord Stage will go live. Pre-registered users will be able to join the stage and submit bids for the 2 available properties. Prices for the live auction will start at the suggested minting price and will proceed until there are no more bidders for that particular property. Bid prices will be adjusted by a moderator and will increase by 50,000 UPX until there is only a single bidder remaining. Registration for the live auction will remain open for about 24 hours, until 1 hour prior to the start of the auction at 3:00 PM PT. If you’d like to register for the live auction, please complete the following form and agree to the rules. Bids from players who did not previously register will not be accepted.

Live Auction Rules & Process

Auction Process

• Players will submit bids via the #auctions channel in Discord
• After the starting price is announced players can start to submit bids
• If there are multiple bidders the price will be increased by 50,000 UPX
• Each price increase will be announced by a moderator
• After each price change, players must quote the price and tag the moderator to submit their bid
• Bids will continue to be accepted until there is only a single bidder remaining
• Once only a single bidder remains a countdown of 1 minute will begin. If no there are no further bids before the timer concludes it will be awarded to the player with the highest bid.

Rules

• Players must be registered in order to participate in the Live Auction
• Players must follow the bidding format in order for their bids to be accepted
• Players must be willing to mint the property at their proposed bid price

Note: Failure to abide by these rules may result in removal from the Discord community. We ask that all participants be prepared to purchase each property at the bid price.
