Upland May Update
Hello Uplanders!
We wanted to give you guys a brief update about what to expect for the upcoming weeks in Upland. There is a whole lot going on, so be sure to follow along on Discord and Twitter for the most relevant updates.
Upcoming Cities & Terminal Contest
First up, we want to give some insight into what’s going on with upcoming city releases. This past Friday, we began the relaunch of Oakland with the re-release of Wave 1 properties. This coming Tuesday, May 4th, 11:00 PM PT, we will also move forward with the release of Wave 2 for Oakland, which will complete the launch.
Additionally, we have two new cities on deck which are primed to be released. First, expect to see Staten Island find its way to Upland in the very near future, with Bakersfield following soon after. Both will serve as starter cities on the East and West coasts respectively. Staten Island will be connected via a bus route to Brooklyn, while Bakersfield will be connected via train directly to San Francisco.
As we’ve done in the past, we will be running a community event for the awarding of some of the Bus and Train terminals as prizes; these will be the first minted properties in these new cities. We will announce the full details of this event sometime on Monday, May 3rd.
Later in May, we are planning for the exciting release of 2 new hub-cities in Upland in Vanilla Mode, so stay tuned for more details!
Cinco De Mayo Piñata Party
In addition to all of this, we will be launching an event celebrating Cinco De Mayo this Wednesday, May 5th, at 10:00 AM PT. The day will be packed with piñata drops, challenges, and a special tier of treasure hunts! We’re super excited to celebrate with all of you, so be sure to keep an eye for more details about the event in the next couple of days.
Property Development
There is a lot to be excited about in the near future for the Upland metaverse, and this includes the release of permanent Property Development with the new Spark token and Structure NFT. The terraformer that commemorates this incredible milestone will also be launched alongside new Store Promo features that allow for pre-registration and queueing for limited-availability item sales.
