Tips for organizing notes with spaces
Since we launched the space feature in UpNote, it has generated a lot of interest from our users. Some users are wondering whether they should use the space feature to replace their current organizational structure with notebooks and tags in UpNote.
If you have a small number of notes and are comfortable with the current notebook structure, we recommend not switching yet. However, if your number of notes has increased and you want to keep your notespace cleaner and more organized, consider the following suggestions:
- If you have many nested notebooks under the main notebook “Personal” and that notebook is locked, create a locked space for “Personal” instead. This way, you can put all the notes and notebooks related to that topic in one place without locking each individual notebook. Navigating between notebooks in a locked space is also easier.
- If you have many project notebooks nested under the notebook “School”, create a space for “School”. This will help you stay better focused on working on notes for school projects/subjects.
- If you want to archive notes and keep your main notespace clean, create an “Archive” space. Move the notes/notebooks you want to archive there. This way, they won’t appear in the “All Notes” section or in search results. You can switch to the “Archive” space to refer to or find them when needed.
Remember, notes in one space do not appear in another, including search results. This allows you to stay more focused when working in each space. However, we recommend not creating too many spaces as it can become inconvenient to search for notes and switch among them.
We hope that spaces will provide you with more flexibility in organizing your notes. If you have other good use cases for using spaces, please share them in the comments or with our community on Reddit :)
