Hunt for Uport Treasure at Ethereal SF

On Friday, 10/27, we are turning the Ethereal SF conference into a treasure hunt, with Uport swag as the prize.

We’re excited to use Ethereal SF as an opportunity to show off how the Uport ID platform can support an end-to-end decentralized identity use case, from identity registration on Ethereum → sharing credentials and signing transactions → receiving a verification → selectively disclosing your verification → receiving Uport swag.

How Treasure Hunt: Ethereal SF Works

The game is all about hunting down QR codes and using your Uport ID to scan and verify your presence at Ethereal. A number of Uport QR codes will be scattered throughout the conference, prompting you to download and install Uport, and register your Uport ID to the Ethereum blockchain.

After you’ve registered your ID, you can use the Uport ID app to scan the QR code, and you will receive a request to share your verified ID credentials with the Ethereal app.

When you accept the app request to share your credentials with Ethereal, you are allowing the Ethereal app to verify that you are actually at the conference, in person, scanning the QR code. In exchange, Ethereal will issue you a verification to your Uport ID. This verification is your ticket to Uport swag.

Once you’ve been issued your verification, you can head over to the Uport table and scan our QR code with your Uport ID. This will issue a request to your app to share the previously collected Ethereal verification, so we know that you actually completed the treasure hunt.

And in exchange for hunting down QR codes and verifying your presence at Ethereal via Uport and the Ethereum blockchain, you are now the rightful owner of an limited edition, collector’s item:
