State Rep. Scott Petri joined fellow Rep. Mike Driscoll and Philadelphia City Councilman Al Taubenberger in honoring Ivyland’s John E. Parsons, who was recently named St. Martin of Tours Elementary School’s Business Leader of the Year.

Parsons graduated from St. Martin’s, in the Oxford Circle section of Northeast Philadelphia, in 1973 and from Father Judge High School in 1977. He earned a degree in finance from Denison University in Ohio.

A married father of four, he is founder of Bustleton Services Inc. a construction company with more than 30 years of experience that has built charter schools, recreation centers and other structures. He is known for his philanthropy. He is a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Richboro.

Parsons was honored at a gala at Leonardo Helicopter (formerly AgustaWestland) in Philadelphia. The other honorees were Michael Korolishin, a Doylestown resident named Alumnus of the Year, and the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, who were named Educators of the Century.
