James Webb Telescope

In the modern age, private space companies like SpaceX have been the main focus of space enthusiasts in regards to the latest advancements of space technology; NASA, taking a more supportive role towards these private industries, has largely been out of the limelight in this regard. However, NASA’s latest achievement in the advancement of science has proven that they are still very capable of completing their own groundbreaking projects.

The latest of these projects to be successfully deployed into space is the James Webb Telescope. This 10 billion dollar telescope is unique due to its special design allowing it to dissipate heat more efficiently than previously designed telescopes. Whereas older telescopes could face heating issues, the advanced cooling mechanisms implemented in James Webb have negated the issue.

So how does the telescope work, what stage of deployment is it in, and what does this accomplishment imply for the future?
