Uptree’s purpose is to reach future talent and empower communities, and part of carrying that out is to upskill students in our network and improve their employability more broadly. CEO and founder of Uptree, Tamsin Dewhurst found that despite getting high grades and even a degree students were lacking the confidence, professional network, and awareness of the broad career options available to fully realise their potential.

Seeing that schools were too overstretched to provide the softer employability skills and careers advice that students need, Tamsin created Uptree to put industry at the forefront of careers education and to solve this issue. Uptree is a solution that benefits all parties: Over 200 schools that we partner with receive access to free workshops and easy-to-deliver careers lessons. Students receive up-to-date careers advice and information from companies, the chance to develop their employability skills and access to professional experiences and opportunities. Companies are able to start building a more diverse talent pipeline early on and build an employer brand recognised by young people across the UK.

We invest a lot into the content, creation, and delivery of our employability programme. Recognising the importance of a 360 approach, we make sure we are introducing students to industries and potential pathways, specific companies and their opportunities, as well as improving their employability in general.

This summer, we are excited to announce our first ever Personal Development Coaching Afternoon. Giving students a chance to get ahead during their summer holidays and work on their employability skills, we are offering 10 spots to students via our website. Unlike school workshops or work experience events, this is an opportunity for a highly personalised support session to work on building each student’s personal brand and employability skills. The afternoon will include LinkedIn headshots, career focus groups, strengths vision boards, a networking lunch, and much more. Interested students should sign up quickly on our website: www.uptree.co.

If you or your company would like to find out more about us or our work, get in touch with us via LinkedIn or email us at info@uptree.co. We look forward to hearing from you!
