We are excited to share the news of Airobotics, one of our portfolio companies, raising a $32.5M Series C round as it expands into the defense and homeland security industries, and expands globally. The full announcement can be found here.

Airobotics’ fully-automated end-to-end drone solution is already the market leader in autonomous drone technology for industrials markets. It is the first company in the world authorized to fly fully autonomous drones. The platform is available on-site and on-demand, currently enabling industrial facilities to access premium aerial data faster, safer, and more efficiently.

Airobotics raised $32.5M, led by BlueRun Ventures with participation from Microsoft Ventures, OurCrowd, and various previous investors including CRV, BRV, Noam Bardin (CEO of Waze), Richard Wooldridge (former COO of Google ATAP), and others. The company has now raised $61M in total funding-to-date. “This fundraising enables us to continue to expand, within industrial facilities, and with our newly launched Defense division,” said CEO Ran Krauss. “Our next stop — automated drones in cities.”

UpWest was Airobotics’ first institutional investor back in 2015 since their early days in a garage in Be’er-Sheva, Israel. We are proud to have invested in Ran Krauss and the fantastic Airobotics team as the company has grown to 170 employees and are continuing to revolutionize the drone industry with its unique technology.
