We know we’ve been after you for photos of your mom, but now it's dad’s turn! Whether he’s in the midst of savoring a corny joke, attending a baseball game, or spectating a dance recital, now is the time to bring old images of your dad (or paternal figure) to Urban Archive’s map.

Cocktails and beer after Sunday Mass. That’s dad, Thomas F. Comiskey, in the middle. He married Marguerite Doyle in 1946, at Good Shepherd Church in Inwood.

With Father’s day around the corner, rummage through your old photo albums and see what falls out of the woodwork. Young and hip, old and cargo shorts-wearing, and anything in between, we want it! Celebrate your father by uploading your favorite photos of him along with a short description of where they were taken and what’s going on.

Rockefeller Center Ice Skating Rink used to have a huge halloween party, and this photo is from there. Pictured are my mom on the left, my dad in the middle

Once they’re all in, we’ll add them to our #nylovesdads map and compile them into a story and takeover! We’ll launch on Father’s Day so get hunting for that perfect picture soon (though submissions that occur later will still be added!) and don’t be afraid to submit more than one or follow the theme as it fits for you!

Below are some examples of what we’re looking for!

Our mom Marie Jean Anfosso, married our dad, Richard Ritner on October 21, 196The mass was celebrated at the beautiful Our Lady of Pompeii Church on the corner of Carmine and Bleecker Street, in the West Village. Mom’s family lived at 259 Bleecker Street for over 50 years. Our Lady of Pompeii was their parish church and remains a special place for us to this day.
The photo shows my dad (Richard Roth Jr who designed the building, Emery Roth & Sons) along with Michael Stevens who developed the site along with Michael Sarch. This would have been at the groundbreaking in 1982.
I love this photograph of my mother, Stacey Starkman, taken in 1968 with her father and brother on the Lower East Side during the high holidays.

All submissions can be sent to team@urbanarchive.nyc. Thank you!
