GAME OF THRONE SEASON 7 EPISODE 6: WAR! DEATH!!

You must agree with me this Episode 6 was the most intense yet in Game of Thrones history, in line with The Red Wedding and Season 5 finale — the intensity keeps building up. If word on the street is anything to go by, Season 7 finale will have more nuances, intrigues and poignant fistbumping of carnage for our viewing pleasure, but back to the issues at hand.

From Episode 6, we knew this was going to hit ratings gold, we just didn’t know how much — we had confirmations of speculations and rumours, as well as underlying phenomenon like love between our favourite characters. I must say though; I expected more deaths than I saw, and The Hound is an arsehole.

The Unfolding: Jon and Dany are slowly warming up to it and I fucking love it. Another unfolding is the power struggle in the North. Make no mistake, you might see the Stark girls going at it, but Littlefinger is definitely moving his aces into space. We have eyes on this one.

The intense: The Night King has a fucking Ice spitting beast of a creature as we’ve known for quite some time, but it still feels surreal.

Word through the grapevine predicts a season finale overly flush with bloodbaths and war. So where could the wars be at? We say;

  • Kings’ Landing where Cersei has a Daddy-inspired ambush waiting.
  • The North where power will be decided soon.
  • Probably a party pooping entrance by the Night King, throwing his chips in too, who knows eh?

Although I have a few problems with the series; chief of which is, it seems to focus on sensationalism of scenes and clichéd occurences; something the series effectively jettisoned to perfection and uniqueness in the early days. Another is how did Jon pass through a place without seeing the Wight horde, only for them to emerge out of what? It doesn’t correlate.

And how the hell have they all managed to escape almost unscathed from that onslaught?

But I did love some dialogue; Tormund and The Hound, Jon and Undead…

Prognosis

As we’ve done recently, we make predictions based on happenings so far and they’re thus;

1. Cersei loses in Kings’ Landing, maybe her brother dies too but someone is dying definitely.

2. Littlefinger makes his play and will probably take power, or will get caught by Sisters’ union and either die or be imprisoned.

3. The Night King might just make an entrance, but we wouldn’t advice you to have money on this.

Long term

- Dany and Jon fall in love, maybe make an heir, or;

- Dany and Jon still fall in love, she names him her successor, discovers his true ancestry and probably dies in the penultimate season, Jon becomes King.

- Sansa or Arya die one way or another. I can almost guarantee this but my money is on Sansa.

Wildcard

  • The Night King might just storm the North smack in their power struggle or probable war. You never know.
  • Long term; Dany dies, Jon rejects the iron throne, returns to the North, Tyrion is king. You never know eh?
