POWER-PLAYS IN THE BIG RICH WORLD

Today’s Episode of Power will be the 5th of Season 4 and 33rd overall for the hit TV series. This episode titled “ don’t thank me” will mark the half way point of season four and with 5 episodes to go, we don’t for one second think that the drama engulfing the St Patricks is close to subsiding. Anyway, season 4 has been awesome so far and we all want to hand Tariq a quality dose of African spanking, or “hard reset” if you may and we all laughed at Angela when she finally saw what has been in plain sight.
To commemorate the half way mark this season, we present to you our character summaries and possible permutations for what’s left of season 4.
Caveat: If you are yet to watch episode 5, beware as the following may contain spoilers.
Without further ado.

James ‘’Ghost’’ St Patrick
Let’s be honest, we know Jamie is going to beat the case. His character has so far managed to remain a growing concern, he showed us he hasn’t lost a step by turning the tables on Teresi, even though we know Teresi isn’t going to stay still and die. It’s interesting to see how he continues his life when he gets out of jail. Does he strive to remain legit? Or will the ghosts come knocking?

Angela “Angie” Valdez
This Lady… Smh. We agree she’s having a hard time tip toeing the thin boundary between revenge and the desire for justice. Regardless of her shortcomings, we know she’s as good a prosecutor as they come. If anyone is going to blow the can of worms open, our bet is on her. Go Angie! Go Angie! Go!

Tasha St Patrick
Lady T. She’s done well to keep her cool and hold fort at home in the absence of James. Her character has gone through a mini revival, her fling with Shawn seems like ages ago now. Who is to say she won’t have another? She’s an asset nonetheless and if Tommy and James need reeling in, she’s the one to do the job. Quick question tho; Why hasn’t she checked Tariq’s behavior?

Tommy Egan
Gung ho, trigger happy, cold, erratic, master criminal are just a few of the many adjectives to describe this character. The greatest thing about him is that he knows where his loyalties lie and he’s willing to go any length to guarantee nothing happens to his folks. He is the one character we know is going to willingly fight to deliver on his promises.
I’ve got a feeling that the band will come together again for one more rodeo. Do not let the perceived restlessness among the primeras bother you. Tommy knows and he’ll check it soon enough.
For all the talk on his brashness, he knows how to surprise us. Remember when he spared Lakeisha and gave his muscle car to his mom to avoid detection? Exactly, He’s unpredictable like that.

Kanan
Is Kanan a Villain or an Antihero? He’s basically seeking revenge against the guys who took his empire away from him. Folks have interpreted this character in a somewhat confusing manner or maybe it’s our moralities speaking, well he is just getting started. Facts point to the possibility of Ghost beating the case, and that means Kanan gets another chance to ruin him.

Tariq St Patrick
This kid right here as a character resides in the upper echelons of petulance. His character arc singles him out as a chink in the armor, due to his constant desire to sulk and get the wrong answers from the wrong places. He may or may not get a chance at redemption, but one thing is sure, he’s a vital piece in Kanan’s gambit. We know it’s tough, as a teen however we just want what’s good for you Kid.

Julio
The new distro, this character typifies the age old saying of “heavy is the head”. This season, he got catapulted from a passing figure to a recurring character and we say him bring his version of calm to the table, he’s to Tommy what Tommy was to Ghost. However ,Dre wants that spot and Cristobal wasn’t happy that he didn’t sound Tommy off on breaking the legs of a tainos soldier.

Cooper Saxe
If there was ever a time for this character to get useful and let us know he’s more than a conveyor of dad jokes, that time is now fam. He has the instincts but not execution and it looks likely that he’ll get useful by forming a partnership with Angie to get to the bottom of this clusterfuck.

Mike Sandoval
Six words; Green snake under the green grass. Mike almost got away with murder — not for the first time, we believe. He’s smart and works the weakness of others to his advantage. Now that the gun he planted has been excluded from evidence, we know he’s going to try something else. He displayed uncharacteristic carelessness in murdering Greg and that might be a boomerang with a bite attached, making its return, while accurately aimed at his ass. It was fun while it lasted Mike.

Dre
This character is as dogged as they come, his desire to survive is paramount, all else is secondary. He’s gone from hustling on corners to scoring big managing Truth until it got shit down, he needs to finance his promise to Kanan, he needs power and to achieve that he’s set his sights on Julio’s position as distro. An unlikely partnership with Cristobal is in the offing. Regardless of his shady dealings, he has enough contacts that prefer him alive.

Joe Proctor
Here’s a an advice, don’t make a decision to become attorney/lawyer based on how cool and savvy TV lawyers are — that goes for Harvey Specter as well.
Joe is a walking contradiction of the lofty ethical standards required from legal practitioners. A man constantly wriggling in ethical dilemmas That said, he’s one hell of a defense attorney; a testament to dedication; a man willing to go lengths to get his clients off the hook. Shame he won’t be defending James due to the perceived conflict of interest — Damm you Mak — but we can be rest assured he still has roles to play in this saga.

Lakeisha Grant
Our friendly neighborhood street smart and ready to break a heel in your head character. She doesn’t know half of the stuff that’s going on, or maybe she does, who is going to tell her? Did I hear you say Tommy? Exactly.

John Mak
Dogged and an epitome of perseverance, he knows a thing or two about this kind of cases. He’s the embodiment of thorough prosecution but thorough isn’t perfect and he’s bound to get blinded by his chase for Justice and the desire to score one over proctor. He’s better off relying on Angela’s keenness, as she knows a lot more at this stage.

Tony Teresi
The writers must have heard our cries for a mobster. We have been obliged with Senor Teresi; a retired (at least I think so) hitman renowned for his ability. We believe there’s a lot more to him, andd I’m sure you saw it coming from a mile that he’s Egan’s dad, what does that mean for him?

Terry Silver
From second chair to lead counsel, it’s now his job to get James off the hook. We know he’s more than capable to excel at it. However his introduction to the show and the life of the St Patricks is for a bigger purpose. You read it here first.

Laverne “Jukebox” Garner
What’s a show about crooks without a crooked police officer? You guess is as good as ours. We know she’s going to return, but her purpose exactly is the question. Kanan will turn to her for muscle and execution. It will get ugly.
There you have it folks, what do you think about our theories? Be sure to let us know in the comments and via social media.
