Urbanity Magazine is looking for fresh APIA perspectives on culture, current events, history and Asian American life

Urbanity Magazine wants to publish writing, journalism, opinion and art that is rooted in APIA culture from an Asian American Studies — not the neoliberal kind. That means we invite any writing that builds a collective Asian American consciousness for liberation.

We are looking for writers of all ages, genders and identities that fall under the political category “Asian American”, with an emphasis on unpacking our histories with regard to region, class, migration, white supremacy settler colonialism, militarism and colonization. This includes how these manifest in our own selves and communities, as well content that challenges the power of mainstream European, American and even Asian American institutions.

Fill out this Google Form if you are interested and/or have something you want to submit. Former organizers, Asian American Studies educators and students, activists and elders from all backgrounds and approaches to social justice are encouraged to apply, as well as folks who want to bring marginalized APIA stories to the fore.
