The last month has been pretty hectic for the engineering team, and we have some really cool features to showcase for the effort put in.

Here’s the list of the important features and enhancements we released.

New payment options

In our effort to provide a wide array of options for merchants to choose from when it comes to payments, we have integrated with the following gateways. These payment options can be easily configured through the Quint (CMS/CRM) dashboard.

Instamojo — Instamojo has been around for quite some time and have done some incredible work with SMEs. They have upwards of 1 million merchants using them for processing their transactions. We believe their expertise in working with SMEs will play a crucial role in helping the merchants on our platform have a reliable payment experience.

Paytm — going forward, merchants can have Paytm’s wallet enabled as a payment option for the orders placed by their customers on UrbanPiper’s platform. Merchants can even build cross-platform marketing plans on the Paytm network to further promote their online ordering site/app.

Stripe — keeping in mind our initial forays into geographies outside India, UrbanPiper now has full support for processing transactions using Stripe.

Automatic image compression and caching

Images play a pretty significant role when it comes to increasing the amount of data your users need to download when accessing your website. This also leads your website to have a sluggish feeling.

Even though we always issue guidelines about the resolution and size of the images to be uploaded for the inventory, it is often hard to stick by them when you are uploading a lot of inventory data.

Going forward, whenever you upload an image for an item, category, option or add an image to the gallery, the platform will automatically compress the image to an optimal size, without compromising on the quality of the image.

In addition to image compression, we have also built an intelligent image cache handling logic. This will make all the images served by the UrbanPiper platform render in a snap after the browser has loaded them for the first time. In addition, the images will be fetched from a server that is close to the user giving your website a snappy user experience.

Phone based feedback

This has been a regular request from our merchants, and we are finally making this feature available.

At present, your website/app pops-up a dialog to collect feedback whenever your customer comes back to the web/app after having placed an order. This ensures that you collect valuable data about your services for every oline order.

But what about your customers making in-store purchases?

Fret not, because now you can have the UrbanPiper system configured to dispatch an automated SMS after some time has elapsed since a customer has made a purchase in your store. In that SMS you can embed a customised link for the customer, where she can go and give feedback about the last purchase experience.

If you have still not signed-up for the UrbanPiper loyalty platform, now would be a good time!

Audit log for changes made through Quint

The Quint platform serves as the centralised portal to configure, track, analyse and plan everything around the ordering system or loyalty platformthat you’ve deployed using the UrbanPiper platform.

Naturally, it becomes critical to have full accountability for the configuration changes made though Quint.

Going forward, the Quint system will maintain a log where every update made by a user will automatically get logged. This will serve handy to perform root cause analysis around any misconfiguration and quickly undo any errors.
