How to Unstake Your URQA Tokens

Earlier this month, UREEQA’s three staking pools were filled to the brim almost as soon as they went live. To those who were lucky enough to get some or all of their tokens into Shakespeare, Mozart or da Vinci, congrats on the free URQA!

We’ve been asked a lot about future staking opportunities, and while we’re not ready to unveil specific details just yet, we’re continuing to improve the functionality of staking on our platform and working on ways to empower our loyal early Tokenholders.

For now, though, we have some business to take care of for those who cannonballed into the initial pools.

The three pools will reach maturity in July, August and September, respectively, but those in Shakespeare can withdraw with as early as June 7 with a 5% APY, those in Mozart can do the same as early as June 22 with a 10% APY and those in da Vinci can exit on the same date at 15%.

Of course, the longer you stake, the more you earn. But you oughta know how to withdraw, so here’s a step-by-step guide.

1. Go to UREEQA.com and click on “Tokenholders” at the top of the page.

2. On that page, click on the “STAKING REWARDS” button.

3. Select the pool in which you’ve staked your tokens.

4. Click on “Connect” in the top right corner to connect your wallet. You must unstake with the same wallet you used to stake your URQA.

5. Your staking dashboard will now display your wallet address and the rewards you will receive if you unstake at that time.

6. If you wish to proceed, select the “Un-stake” button.

7. MetaMask will pop up on the web wallet that you originally used to stake. You can select the number of tokens you wish to remove and can view the gas fees associated with the transaction. You’ll need Ethereum in your wallet to cover those fees, which can be changed in MetaMask by pressing EDIT and choosing a custom gas fee. Lower fees have slower transaction times. An average rate is recommended.

8. Confirm your transaction in MetaMask.

9. Wait for the transaction to process.

10. The URQA tokens you withdrew will appear in your wallet.

Keep in mind that you absolutely cannot unstake prior to the aforementioned early withdraw dates (June 7 for Shakespeare; June 22 for Mozart and da Vinci) and that unstaking before maturity will result in a penalty that will be reflected on your staking dashboard.

To maximize your rewards, ensure you are unstaking at the end of a full term. Here are the maturity dates for each pool:

Shakespeare: July 7

Mozart: August 6

da Vinci: September 5

Summer’s coming. Might as well remain in the pool. But now, at least you know where the ladder is.

The UREEQA platform strives to protect Creators’ work, their rights and their revenue by harnessing the power of blockchain technology.

Established in Canada in 2020, UREEQA will modernize the inefficient and bureaucratic systems currently in place for copyright, patent, industrial design and trademark protection. By building a robust and compelling Package of Proof for source creative work, UREEQA only mints Validated NFTs to represent creative rights. This helps keep buyers safe by giving them confidence that the work they are purchasing was minted by the smart contract approved by the Creator of the work and is therefore authentic.

UREEQA provides value and opportunities for its Creators, Validators and Tokenholders via URQA, the token at the heart of the UREEQA ecosystem.
