This weekend two things are happening that will have a huge impact in the lives of everyone living in the USA, and even those who live in other countries. President Elect Trump will be sworn in as President on Friday, and I am still in awe that he will be the leader of the USA for the next four years. Many people are now saying we have no choice but to show our support since he will be president, but I do not believe this is our only choice. Thankfully there are a ton more people who feel the same way.

On Saturday January 21, there will be a demonstration in D.C. to show support to the people who actually need it. The Women’s March on Washington will be used as a much needed event to shine the light on the groups who have been attacked by the president elect. Thousands will gather near the US Capitol to show Trump we will not stay quiet and show him support when he has done nothing but use hate and ignorance to fuel his campaign. This march is not just for Trump’s eyes but the world to see that not everyone here is just going to give in and follow Trump.

I do not have the chance to attend the march but applaud everyone who will be attending. I thank everyone who has a part in making this march happen. I will be donating to the event and ask if you can to do the same. Also show your support to all the organizations Trump has shown hate towards, but most importantly show them love. I also recommend you read this article about the march because it speaks volumes. I would also like to mention the congressman Luis Gutiérrez for skipping the inauguration and attending the women’s march instead. His reasons are valid and I wish more politicians were doing the same.

One of my favorite organizations, Miss Representation, is also involved in the march and made an awesome video please watch it! They will be using the hashtag #MarchingForward this Saturday to show your support for the march and for the rights of women and human rights. Especially tweet it to the president elect since he seems to only care about whats on twitter.
