At the conclusion of last years URx Conference, back in April 2017, it struck me that it would once again be a full year before we have the opportunity to come together. That seemed off and got me thinking. Why don’t we have opportunities for our community to come together in smaller groups throughout the year?

Panelists at the Fall URx & Jumpstart Fireside Chat

This past Fall, in collaboration with the Jumpstart Team, we hosted something of a test run. A small networking event bringing together early talent recruiting & development professionals. The topic for the evening was best practices around diversity & inclusion specifically sourcing, tools, and scale. The turnout, energy, and feedback were incredible. One thing I noticed was the amount of support being offered. Time and time again we saw people sharing challenges, sharing resources, and offering solutions. That’s what our community is all about. Which is why I’m excited to introduce URx Community Meetups!

Discussion group at the Winter Handshake UR Meetup in Anaheim

URx Community Meetups are small networking events that will take place throughout the year hosted by URx Community members across the country. Our community spans the entire country and I’m excited to have more opportunities for early talent recruiting & development professionals to come together, grow our networks, discuss subjects unique to our regions, and find support. Each URx Meetup will have a program and agenda driven by the region it is taking place in.

Thanks to URx Community members, Diana Pena & Tricia Sitemere as well as Kristen Ribero from the Handshake Team, we will be hosting meetups in Dallas (1/24/19), New York City (3/14/19), and Chicago (4/16/19) leading up to URx19!

If you are interested in attending a meetup you can RSVP here, if you would like to host a URx Meetup in your city this year drop us a line at team@urxconference.com.
