Stay in the loop with our latest roundup of some of the best new music.

96 — Gavin Haley

Gavin Haley is an up-and-coming independent singer-songwriter from Detroit. He began his music career in a pretty unconventional way , after having once been a professional cyclist, competing for the national US men’s cycling team, in his teens, before suffering a terrible injury. It was his time recovering in Europe where he was introduced to the underground music scene.

‘96’ is his first new material of 2019, following on from his 2018 single ‘Jet Lag’— which now has over 2 million streams on Spotify. ‘96’ showcases Gavin’s emotive and heartfelt songwriting.

Carry On — Kygo & Rita Ora

British pop star Rita Ora and Norwegian producer Kygo have teamed up to create a dance song after sharing a set together at Coachella last April. ‘Carry On’ will feature on the original soundtrack of the film Detective Pikachu, which is out on the 10th of May. Kygo, a childhood fan of Pokémon, has shared his excitement online.

Disappear — Beabadoobee

London-based bedroom-pop singer-songwriter Beabadoobee (or just ‘Bea’ for short) brings us a new dream pop creation in the form of ‘Disappear’, taken from her new EP Loveworm, produced by Dirty Hit (The 1975, Pale Waves). The release of her new EP coincides with a sold-out show at Oslo in London — Bea’s second ever headline show.

Eagle Birds — The Black Keys

Blues rock legends The Black Keys are back with another new single. Entitled ‘Eagle Birds’, this riff-heavy track follows the release of their recent single ‘Lo/Hi’. The duo have confirmed both songs will appear on their new album, Let’s Rock, which is set for release on the 28th of June. It will be the Key’s ninth studio album, and their first in five years.

Fallin — Bastien

Bastien is a 22-year-old multi-instrumentalist hailing from Bucharest, Romania. He creates hymn-like songs, fusing together the genres of pop, neo-soul, R&B, and electronica. ‘Fallin’’ is his second single after the release of his debut track, ‘Stay With Me’, earlier this year. Both will appear on his debut LP which is set for release this Spring. This young artist is definitely one to watch.

Missing You — The Vamps

The Vamps are back in 2019 with the release of their new EP, Missing You, their first release as a group this year—their last release was a collaborative effort with Alok and Felix Jaehn on the dance hit ‘All The Lies’, which dropped earlier this year. The British pop group’s new EP is a welcome return for the chart toppers, featuring a more lo-fi and stripped-down sound.

Drunk II — Mannequin Pussy

Mannequin Pussy are a rock quartet hailing from Philadelphia in the US. ‘Drunk II’ is the band’s first new material of 2019, and will appear on their upcoming new LP, entitled Patience, which is set for release in the near future. ‘Drunk II’ is a typically chaotic and fun cut which perfectly showcases the band’s hype and energy.

Lights Go Down — Syn Cole ft. Dakota

‘Lights Go Down’ is the latest release from Estonian DJ and producer Syn Cole, involving his signature fusion of funk, groove, and progressive sounds. Featuring on the track is south-London pop singer Dakota, who recently featured on Jonas Blues’ latest album which dropped earlier this year.

Back In My Arms — Carlie Hanson

‘Back In My Arms’ is the latest release from teenage pop singer Carlie Hanson. At just 18 years old, Carlie is tipped to be one of the future stars of the genre, alongside trailblazers Billie Eilish, Maggie Rogers, and Sigrid. Carlie shot into the limelight two years ago with the release of the single ‘Only One’, and since then the tune has been streamed over 50 million times and the Wisconsin native has gone from working in McDonalds to being one of the most exciting young artists on the scene right now.

If I Tell You — Flipp Dinero

This is the latest release from American hip-hop artist Flipp Dinero, best known for his 2018 platinum-certified single ‘Leave Me Alone’. The 23-year-old’s newest track is extremely catchy with some smooth vibes, and includes a hint that love might be in the air for the up-and-coming rapper.
