Exam season is approaching, but we’re still bringing you the hottest new music to build the soundtrack to your summer.

Paranoid — Sfven

Sfven, otherwise known as Jamie Clarke, is a 21-year-old UK-based singer-songwriter, whose musical journey began after accidentally attending a music production class at university. His name is taken from the name of the hard drive where his songs are stored, and he is influenced by artists such as Bon Iver, Louis the Child, Flume, and Whethan.

‘Paranoid’ is Sfven’s debut single and encapsulates everything that is exciting about this young artist: it offers a unique sound that blends indie influences, lo-fi RnB beats, and pop-y hooks. Give this fresh and assured debut single a listen below.

Pink — No Rome

‘Pink’ is taken from No Rome’s second EP, Crying In the Prettiest Places, which dropped last week. The track is a catchy and chill pop record, showcasing why this young artist is one of the most exciting new talents out there.

No Rome is originally from Manila but is now based in London, and shot to global attention after his hit ‘Narcissist (ft. The 1975)’ became one of the most popular indie tracks of last year. Since then, No Rome has performed at Coachella and is now heading out on tour with Matty Healy and co.

The Drive — Everyone You Know

Everyone You Know, a duo comprised of Rhys Kirkby-Cox and Harvey Kirkby have hit our Top 10 for the second time, this time with their latest single ‘The Drive’. The track is a hard-hitting, but largely relatable, take on young adulthood, with narrative lyrics delivered casually over an understated instrumental backing. The video for this excellent track is also definitely worth a watch.

Further Apart — Hildur Höglind

Hildur Höglind is an independent singer-songwriter and performer based in Sweden. Having won awards in her home country she is beginning to break out outside Sweden, extending her reach to an international audience. ‘Further Apart’ is her first piece of new music in 2019, and it showcases her ethereal sound, which blends the genres of electronic, pop, and dream pop.

Kitty Sucker — Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes

‘Kitty Sucker’ is taken from Frank Carter & The Rattlesnake’s latest LP, End Of Suffering, which dropped last Friday. In its first week of release the new record has already reached number 4 in the UK album charts. The album is the Rattlesnakes’ third studio release, and, like the two that came before it, has already been a critical and commercial hit. The group are currently on a European tour but will be back in the UK in time for festival seasons, with slots at Reading & Leeds and Vital festivals this summer.

I Don’t Care — Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber

Ed Sheeran returns with ‘I Don’t Care’, his first new music since his massive 2017 album ÷. Anticipate the usual catchy hooks and big choruses, and listen out for Canadian superstar Justin Bieber, for whom this track also marks a return to the scene for 2019.

Stay (Don’t Go Away)— David Guetta Ft. RAYE

‘Stay (Don’t Go Away)’ is the latest release from French DJ and electronic producer David Guetta, and it follows the release of his hugely successful record 7, which dropped last year. Featuring on the track is rising South London-based star RAYE, best known for her 2017 single ‘Decline’.

Alligator — Of Monsters and Men

Of Monsters and Men are back with their new single ‘Alligator’, the Icelandic group’s first new material since their 2015 LP Beneath The Skin. The group, best known for their multi-platinum single ‘Little Talks’, are rumoured to be working on a new album, which is set for release in the near future.

Bad — James Bay

‘Bad’ is taken from James Bay’s latest EP, Oh My Messy Mind, which dropped this Friday. ‘Bad’ is an emotional and understated track that sees Bay strip down his sound—especially in comparison to his latest LP, 2018’s Electric Light, which had a distinctly heavily-produced, pop quality.
