Modesty — Cagework

Formed less than a year ago, the South-London based three piece fronted by Bedford caught the attention of Justin Lockey (Mastersystem/Minor Victories) who was immediately keen to produce and release them on Physical Education, the label he co-runs. ‘Modesty’ is another bruising assault on the senses. It’s dynamic, and intensified — literally, the track only just makes it past the one and a half minute mark.

Rebel Girl — Angels & Airwaves

Angels & Airwaves was formed by Tom DeLonge formerly of punk pop group Blink 182. the band says that they were mainly influenced by the music of Radiohead and Pink Floyd, combining them with the grandiosity of U2. ‘Rebel Girl’ is a space-age love song that combines my enduring obsession for New Wave, pop punk and anthemic rock and roll music,”

Vossi Bop — Stormzy

The comeback release from British Grime artist Stormzy. Dropping last week, ‘Vossi Bop’ became the rapper’s first no.1 single, beating Taylor Swift’s new release ‘Me!’ in the UK charts. Stormzy surprised the audience at the Brixton Academy on Friday night by making a guest appearance alongside fellow Grime artist Dave, performing ‘Vossi Bop’ live for the first time. Stormzy is also set to headline this year’s Glastonbury festival.

Brave (feat. Jessie J) — Don Diablo

‘Brave’ is the new release from producer and DJ Don Diablo, one of the most exciting up-and-coming artists in the genre. The song is a catchy pop-dance tune, and features the powerful vocals of UK artist Jessie J. On Twitter, Don Diablo dedicated the song to “all our BRAVE people out there struggling with LIFE in any way, shape or form.”

Drugs & The Internet — Lauv

‘Drugs & The Internet’ is the latest release from 24-year-old singer-songwriter and producer Lauv. The song is a electro-pop ballad that deals with the superficiality and dangers of the social media age. Lauv has confirmed the single will appear on his upcoming LP ‘How I’m Feeling,’ a follow up to his 2018 compilation ‘I Met You When I Was 18.’

Nerves — Marigolds

Marigolds are an indie/emo outfit hailing from the city of Norwich. ‘Nerves’ is their latest single; an existential song about the future and worry. ‘Nerves’ combines a hypnotic mix of introspective lyrics and complex melodies, a fantastic track which shows this is a young group to keep an eye on.

Black Star Dancing — Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

‘Black Star Dancing’ is the new single from Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and will appear on a new EP with the same name set for release on the 14th of June. The single is Gallagher’s first new music since his acclaimed 2017 LP ‘Who Built The Moon?’ which creates an eclectic soundscape influenced by the likes of David Bowie, INXS and U2.

They’ll Never — Stef Chura

‘They’ll Never’ is the latest release from Stef Chura, a Detroit-based singer-songwriter, following up from her 2017 album ‘Messes’. It is a raw and melancholic track, and will appear on Stef’s upcoming LP ‘Midnight’ which is set to drop later this year. ‘They’ll Never’ video draws inspiration from her home city Detroit, finding Chura and her band performing at colorful spaces around the city.

Woozy — Kwassa

‘Wozzy’ is taken from Kwassa’s latest EP, ‘fka kyko,’ and is a catchy contemporary mix of pop and RnB. Kwassa, real name Scott Veril, is a UK based independent singer-songwriter and producer, who combines elements of pop, RnB and electronic music. Kwassa says of his music, “I like to think of my music as some sort of escapism, where people can listen to it and just be distracted for three minutes, probably imagining themselves somewhere sunnier”.

Dress Up — The Regrettes

‘Dress Up’ is the latest single from UK indie rockers The Regrettes, dropped ahead of their upcoming regional UK tour which kicks off later this year. The group have most recently been on tour supporting Twenty One Pilots, a time during which they released their previous single ‘Pumpkin’. Although none of the band members are much older than seventeen, they are already impressive musicians. “People underestimate you because of your age or your gender, and I think it’s stupid,” they said, “Once they see us play or listen to us, most of the time, they understand that we deserve the spot we have just as much as anyone else.”
