Plastic Magic — Danny Starr
Danny Starr is a twenty-year-old singer-songwriter based in London. ‘Plastic Magic’, which dropped last Friday, is his latest single, following on from last year’s breakout releases: ‘Double Red Line’ and ‘Love Bite’. Danny is a fast rising star in the independent pop sphere, having received strong support from the likes of BBC Introducing and Amazon Radio. He just performed his first sold-out headline show at Thousand Island on the 15th March.
Statues and Monuments — Brightlight City
Brightlight City are a five-piece rock band who have just announced their debut album, The Harmony & The Chaos, which will arrive on the 17th of May. ‘Statues and Monuments’, meanwhile, is a teaser for the forthcoming release; it’s a deeply personal lead single, and vocalist Jamie Giarraputo has said the following about the track:
“This is a song about struggling with depression and anxiety, it can be so overwhelming and consuming. The verses are an explanation of sorts, into what it feels like to be at your lowest point, which stemmed from the questions always being asked like “why do you feel so down today?” or the classic “what’s wrong?” Sometimes there is no reason.”

King James — Anderson .Paak
This is the first single from Anderson Paak’s new album, Ventura, which is expected to be released later this year. He describes this new record as a change of pace, a ‘soul’ record, and it comes less than a year after his last, and most successful, record Oxnard.
Paak is also heading out on a tour called ‘The Best Teef in the Game Tour’, with the name alluding to a light feud between him and music reviewer Anthony Fantano, both of whom claim to have the ‘best teeth’ in the music business.
Love Letter — ELIS NOA
Vienna-based ELIS NOA are an electronic art-pop band with Elisa Godino on vocals, Angel Vassilev on keys, and Aaron Hader on synth bass and sax. Their music draws parallels with artists such as FKA Twigs and Years and Years, but the group have a largely distinctive pop sound. This is their latest in a string of singles released over the past year.
Tomorrow — Demons of Ruby Mae
‘Tomorrow’ is the new single from Manchester-based alternative rock duo Demons of Ruby Mae, otherwise known as Jonny Gavin and Adam Rowley. The track follows on from the duo’s critically-acclaimed self-titled debut LP, which arrived last year. The group have built a cult following between then and now, with their refreshing mixture of electronic, indie, and rock seeing them invite comparisons to The National and The XX.
If This Is Love — The Luck
‘If This Is Love’ is the latest release from pop/folk duo The Luck, comprised of brother and sister Max and Esmay Luck. The Luck have grown a following over the past couple of years with their emotive and catchy singles—which include ‘Leave Your Light On’ and ‘Let Me Love You’— showcasing a fusion of Americana and British folk influences.
2All — Catfish and the Bottlemen
‘2All’ is the new release from UK indie rockers Catfish and the Bottlemen, taken from their upcoming third studio LP, The Balance, which is set for release on the 26th of April. This track is the third release from the group, ahead of their new album, and follows on from the release of ‘Fluctuate’ and ‘Longshot’. The group headed to Ireland to make their new LP with legendary producer Jacknife Lee (who has worked with U2, The Killers, Bloc Party, and R.E.M.).
I See You — MISSIO
This is the latest single from alternative electronic duo MISSIO. ‘I See You’ will appear on their upcoming album, entitled The Darker The Weather, The Better The Man. MISSIO’s music tends to focus on frontman Matthew Brue’s struggles with addiction and alcoholism. ‘I See You’, however, has a more outward message to others struggling with mental health, aiming to let them know they aren’t alone.
Intertwined — The Alchemy
This latest single from UK rock four-piece The Alchemy demonstrates the group’s take on British arena rock. The band have established a growing following, and recently supported Mallory Knox and I Am The Giant on tour, too. ‘Intertwined’, which dropped last Friday, will appear on the group’s upcoming debut LP, Chemical Daydream, which is set for release on the 29th of March.
What I Like About You — Jonas Blue ft. Theresa Rex
This latest track from English DJ, songwriter, and producer Jonas Blue features vocals from Danish singer Theresa Rex. ‘What I Like About You’ is a dance-pop anthem, an absolute banger, and sure to find its way into clubs and onto the radio.
