The stories of the enslaved people who escaped to Mexico help us to understand the limitations of the policies and the formations of the early borders by showing us that the boarders did not make life easy for some people. The enslaved people who did escape to Mexico did fear the boarders but at the same time they wanted to escape so they took the risk to escape. The limitations that the enslaved people had was almost endless. There were many different limitations that the enslaved people had to face. While they fled to Mexico because of the abolishment of slavery they still had many limitations, African American children could not go to public schools. They were not able to travel freely or go where they wanted to go whenever they wanted.

Slavey who went to Mexico got away from the US and their type of slavery where in Mexico they were sill enslaved but they had a little piece of freedom.
