Google has been organising UX Masterclasses around the world for over 5 years. These masterclasses are usually packaged for product teams and startups, and it happens only once a year.

The first edition of the masterclass in Lagos was held in October, 2014 at Pan Atlantic University; and then another one in 2015 at CcHUB. The next one won’t take place till November 2017 as as part of World Usability Day.

As part of the activities of the World Usability Day 2018, Google also organised a 3-day intensive train-the-trainer masterclass to equip selected UX professionals with the skills to teach and startups on how to apply user-centred design in their product development process. This was done so that more startups (and product teams) could learn the fundamental process of UX design, and build products that are usable.

In May, we (usable) held our first UX Masterclass, and now we’re hosting a second one on September 15th and 16th (Saturday and Sunday).

The class is geared towards startups and companies at any stage of product development that are relatively new to the UX discipline and is not suitable for companies with UX experts with a lot of experience.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for cross-functional teams (made up of engineers, product managers, designers, business etc), who want to learn basic user-centered design processes and how to apply them throughout their entire product development cycle.

- UX fundamentals
- How to take your idea from concept to launch
- User research
- Iteration
… and more.
